Metro Turf Specialists is Pleased to Announce The Hiring of Its Newest Addition!
I am extremely excited to announce to you the newest addition to the Metro Sales Team. The last few weeks have created quite the whirlwind which has now ended on a very positive note. Please join me in welcoming Matt Topazio as Metro’s new sales consultant for the HudsonValley.
Since 2005 Matt has been the golf course superintendent at New York Country Club with the last two years also acting as general manager. During his golf career, Matt has also been very active with the Hudson Valley GCSA. He joined the board in 2007 culminating with a term as President this past year. His heart and soul has always been with the HudsonValley.
“I thoroughly enjoyed my ten years of experience at NYCC. The ownership was always very good allowing me to grow professionally and culturally. When the position at Metro became available I reached out to Scott Apgar to learn more about it. My father was in sales for thirty years, so it was always something that intrigued me. Metro has been a top supplier wherever I have been during my career in golf, both as an assistant and head superintendent. I always appreciated the service they gave my former bosses and me, as well as their continued support of the HudsonValley and other local associations. This is a great fit for me and will benefit my family in many ways. I look forward to working with the strong, young, energetic sales force of Jake Green, Rich Apgar and Todd Apgar. I feel I have intricate knowledge of the golf industry to share with them. To my many friends in the HudsonValley, I can’t wait to spend more time with you. It’s going to be great!”
Matt’s official start date is Monday, October 5th. In the meantime, please feel free to reach out to me on my cell at (914) 879-9357 or call the main office at (203) 748-4653 and Gary will help you out.
Matt will be back to you with his new contact information the week of October 5th. We wish he could start sooner, but he and I want to be respectful to his current employer allowing Matt to help them with a smooth transition.
I hope you are as excited as we are at Metro to have Matt Topazio join our team!
All the Best,
Seeking to follow in the footsteps of their parents and grandparents, Todd and Richard needed to deepen and broaden their turf management science skills and credentials. The Rutgers three week turf certificate program, rather than the full four year turf management degree, was a solution that worked for the Apgars and their family. This story was recently published by Rutgers Education department.
